In Corners, Alexandre Arrechea explores the boundaries between structure and movement, stability and transformation. Known for challenging conventional perceptions of architecture, space, and the built environment, Arrechea often reimagines familiar forms in ways that reveal their hidden tensions and possibilities. The title suggests points of intersection and transition, inviting viewers to consider how spaces are defined and how perspectives shift when viewed from different angles.
Through the careful manipulation of form, line, and spatial relationships, Corners transforms an everyday architectural concept into a broader reflection on human experience. The work encourages viewers to look beyond physical structures and consider the symbolic meanings of boundaries, connections, and change. By balancing precision with visual dynamism, Arrechea creates a composition that feels both grounded and in motion, prompting contemplation of the ways environments shape our perceptions and interactions.
Like much of Arrechea’s work, Corners blurs the line between reality and imagination, offering a fresh perspective on familiar subjects while inviting viewers to question assumptions about space, structure, and the world around them.

Alexandre Arrechea is a contemporary Cuban artist recognized internationally for his innovative explorations of architecture, urban space, and social structures. Working across sculpture, painting, drawing, installation, and public art, he examines how the built environment reflects cultural values, systems of power, and human experience. His work often transforms familiar architectural forms into dynamic, unexpected compositions that challenge viewers to reconsider their relationship with the spaces they inhabit.
Throughout his career, Arrechea has become known for reimagining iconic buildings and structural elements through distortion, movement, and abstraction. By bending, fragmenting, or reshaping recognizable forms, he reveals the tension between permanence and change, stability and vulnerability. His artworks encourage viewers to think critically about the social, political, and historical forces embedded within architecture and the urban landscape.
Represented by galleries in Miami, Madrid, and London, Arrechea has exhibited his work internationally and continues to create thought-provoking projects that bridge art, architecture, and public engagement. Through his multidisciplinary practice, he invites audiences to question assumptions about space, perception, and the structures that shape contemporary life.
