When Elysia Meyers first conceived the idea of painting with wine in 2016 while enjoying a morning cup of coffee, she had never encountered the medium before. Having grown up immersed in creative pursuits including ceramics, ballet, piano, photography, and painting, Meyers developed a strong artistic foundation and took every opportunity to study painting throughout college. Curious to explore the possibilities of wine as an artistic medium, she sourced the darkest red wine she could find and began experimenting. Through years of dedication, extensive trial and error, and plenty of wine tasting along the way, Meyers developed a customized, multi-step process that has become the foundation of her distinctive wine paintings today.
