Julie Miller Torres is a fine artist working primarily in the medium of printmaking and is best known for her innovative woven screenprint artworks. Born in Boise, Idaho, and raised in Tallahassee, Florida, Torres brings a unique perspective shaped by both artistic and academic pursuits.
Torres received a Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from the University of Florida, followed by a Master of Laws from the University of Miami. She later returned to the arts, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).
At the heart of Torres’s practice is an exploration of freedom, equality, and empowerment. Through intricate processes and layered compositions, her work examines themes of connection, resilience, and human potential. Her artwork has been acquired by numerous prestigious collections, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Delta Air Lines, SCAD, The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, Norwegian Cruise Line, and the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation.
